Top Picks for Christmas 2009

-The Nintendo Wii The Wii is now $200. About a month or two ago Nintendo decreased the price by $50. I suspect it should be a little easier to find this year. It is the perfect gaming system for the entire family. I figure the extra $50 can go towards accessoriesor games. I priced it out and found that although lots of places like Walmart and Target offer bundles. Suprisingly buying everything you need separately at Amazon is cheaper. Partly due to free shipping and no taxes and also because the accessories are cheaper there. My boys have been asking my wife and I forever to get one. Heck, we even want one. So it finally seems like we can't pass it up.

-Legos Legos are simply perfect for any occasion. Some of the bigger more complicated sets can get pretty expensive. But, there are also cool little ones that make perfect stocking stuffers. this year my boys have been in love with the Lego Castle Sets. They particularly like the ones that include the trolls. They have also been asking for the Lego Agents Sets

-Nerf Toys Nerf makes lots of great toys that are built to last. The footballs and assorted Nerf Blasters are awesome and well worth the money. The range of blasters is great too. The simple ones are pretty cheap while the more complex designs are fairly reasonable. My kids have been eyeing the newest model the CS-35 Raider. This blaster is the first to hold such a large amount of ammo. It comes with a drum styled clip that can hold 35 darts.

Gamewright Games

Recently my family has started buying Gamewright Games. They seem like perfect games for almost all occasions. The games can be fairly quick, like 10-30 minutes. Often times we can play them two or three times. They are very unique yet also easy and a lot of fun. They have games that are good for kids as little as 3 and others that are better for ages 10 and up. Check here to find some of the different Gamewright Games.

A New Sandbox

We are planning to get the boys a new sandbox. We know we want one that holds a lot of sand since we have 3 boys and I'm sure their friends will want to play too. We are currently debating over the cute Crabbie Sandbox one by Step2 or whether we should get the Naturally Playful Sandbox. Check out my Sandboxes for Children Lens if you are interested in one too.

The National Toy Hall of Fame

Someday I hope to visit The National Toy Hall of Fame. It is located at the Strong National Museum of Play in Rochester, New York. The museum contains 42 of America's favorite toys. The toys widely vary. I was completely surprised with last years choice of adding The Stick. But, to be honest absolutely every kid picks up sticks and pretends they are swords or guns, or uses them for baseball. Every year a group of teachers, historians and museum curators get together to decide which toys will be accepted. Anyone is able to nominate their favorite toy to be considered by the committee here. Some other toys at the museum are Legos, Silly Putty, the bicycle, the Etch-A-Sketch, Mr Potato Head and numerous others.

Amazing Pop-Up Books

Tonight my boys and I looked over some of their amazing Pop-Up books by Robert Sabuda and Mathew Reinhhart. You need to see these books first hand. The detail and engineering put into their pop-up books is stunning. When I was little a pop-up book was pretty simple and actually kind of pathetic compared to todays standards. I would open the page and a cool picture would stick out about 2 or 3 inches. Oh and maybe I could pull a little tab to make it move a little. Now the creators of these books are called paper engineers and with good reason. Today the pop-ups can unfold to be 3 times the size of the book and have much more intricate movements. One of their popular series is the Encyclopedia Prehistorica. The books are really cool they describe ancient animals like dinosaurs, mega beasts and sharks that once roamed the Earth. I love that my boys and I are learning all kinds of cool facts from the books and at the same time pretending to have the giant pop-up dinosaur head bite each other. Sabuda and Reinhart are great artists. They obviously spend at least months perfecting the workings of their books. The pictures completely leap off of the page and easily close right back up. I'm surprised how durable they are evan though they are so complex.

Best Cheap Toys

Times are tough for a lot of people. A few people were laid off at my work. So I decided to put together a Squidoo Lens Best Cheap Toys of my kids favorite inexpensive toys. These are all great toys that provide lots of fun for little money. some highlights are a Wiffle Ball Set, Rocket Balloons and Play-Doh. The Wiffle Ball Set is definitely cheaper at your local toy store and can be found almost anywhere near the summer time.

Welcome to The Best Toys For Boys

Hi my name is Jim. I have had a website for a while and am trying to make a living with Internet Marketing. It was pretty slow and tedious in the beginning. But, it has finally picked up and I see how it can eventually make a lot of money. I am hoping someday my wife can stay home with my online income. I have 3 wonderful boys ages 9, 6 and 9 months. The best days in my life are when I get to spend the whole day with them and my wife so hopefully I can get more of those. I love and know a lot about kids toys so that is why I chose that as my niche. My main website is 3 Boys Toys. I am also making Lenses on Squidoo and Hubs on Hubpages. I have found them to both be great communities with lots of people to help and I have become friends with many of them. I have actually found it to be a lot of fun writing about so many of the things that I enjoy. It is great to be able to help other parents find toys that are worth buying. So often I get my boys toys that they end up not liking and they just sit at the bottom of the toy box. I figure by writing about all of the toys that my kids love I can help parents find toys that their kids will love too. So I plan to update this blog with my newest websites to help parents find the best toys.
